I am a great fan of Bill Watterson’s Calvin & Hobbes. Jim Frommeyer and Teague Chrystie realized this absolutely awesome video of the famous snowmen torment scenes from the comic books as a tribute to Bill and here is how they made it: a very Calvin & Hobbes Christmas.

Recently I’ve finished this illustration for a longboard. The design is inspired by classic Hawaiian postcards & surf kitsch. Click the button down below for a little making-of.

Here’s the recipe for a shortcrust pastry:

• 500 g (1,1 lbs) flour
• 125 g (ca. 4,4 oz.) sugar
• 250 g (ca. ½ lb) butter or margarine
• 1 (ca. 0,3 oz.) package vanilla sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon of lemon zest
• 1-2 dashes of salt
• Plus a little bit of flour to roll out the pastry,
  and sugar, water & citron juice (or any other kind of fruit juice) for the frosting
  and a lot of fun, of course.

And that’s all. Simple, but delicious Happy holidays!
